It's In The Handbook. Did You Read It??

DCM calls today to let me know that DCB just got back from Dr. with "just a cold and a low fever of 100.3" Can he still come tomorrow?

Nope, in the handbook, pg 3. Under 99.4 for 24hrs without medication. I really wanted to ask her if she read it? This DCM works retail, no work, no pay. They just came back after 2 weeks out sick with the flu. DCD has pneumonia, was in ER last night. Um, NO! But thanking my stars she said something. I'll give her that. My kids have asthma and pneumonia = hospital stay usually.

I know you've all heard it. I just needed to vent "outloud".

I think there should be a monthly quiz given to parents about something in the handbook, or in a handout

I give all my parents a sick child policy (seperate sheet) for the fridge. Then when they ask about something that is already explained on the sheet I give them another one with a less than positive attitude. Although I can't ensure they read it. = )

Obviously I was much nicer about the whole thing. And told her where she could find the policy so she could show her employer along with the doctors note she had. I really feel bad for her, but I have to protect my family.

So she emailed while I was at my night job to let me know that even with meds little DCB still had a fever so he won't be here tomorrow. I'm trying not to read anything snarky into her email. I know she's upset she isn't going to be working yet another day this month. Oh well. I know have the whole day with just my kids and DH. Longest vacation without him working in 3 or 4 years. Going to enjoy it.
