    Swaddling

Does anyone still swaddle baby’s? I have a 3 month old and DCM is totally against it! I normally do this until about 5 months. The baby’s always sleep so much better but mom seems to want baby to sooth herself. When I do wrap her she sleeps for about two hours and if I don’t wrap her it takes her about 20 minutes to soothe herself and then she only sleeps about an hour.

It is against regulations, here. Has been since mid-'90s.

It's against regs here in Utah too.

I'm also not allowed to swaddle, but I can use sleep sacks. I just have to leave their arms out.

I have good luck with those!

it's against regulations here as well. But as a mom to 4 kids, I always swaddled much longer than that! My kids wore sleep sacks from about 6 months up to over a year after the swaddle phase was over. My son loved to be swaddled and when he got to big for the receiving blankets, I would just swaddle his arms and torso. he loved it. he is 12 now and still sleeps with his receiving blanket he had as a baby. it's so worn out and holey.

SO a odd sleep sack trick- I tuck there little arms inside. It feels swaddly to them, but is still ok with regs (at least here).
