Hi,
How long do you keep a child's file after they've left? A long time ago I read that you should keep it until child turns 18 years old however there is nothing in the licensing regs around this. Is there a rule somewhere about this?

In Alabama, we have to keep them a minimum of 5 years after they leave

Tom Copeland once said that once the child turns 18 they can sue if something happened while in your care. I suggest that you scan them and keep the scanned copy until they turn 20.
