    Bleach to Water Solution Ratios

I have two small bottles that are 8oz each. I want to make one a disinfectant bottle with bleach and one a sanitizing bottle with bleach. How much bleach do I need for both? Can anyone help, I am only finding gallon to bleach ratios.

It depends on whether you have regular or more concentrated bleach. It's best to check the manufacturer's website to get the correct ratios (many bleach jugs have the information on the labels). Make sure your bleach isn't scented - they usually aren't for disinfecting.

The above link has good information. Remember there are 8 ounces in a cup, 16 cups per gallon, so the bleach amount you'll need for your sprayers is 1/16 the labeled amount for sanitizing and disinfection.

It should be on the bottle. Pay attention to its concentration.

And remember you must mix a new batch of solution each day, since it loses its effectiveness after 24 hours. I’ve switched to Odoban for this reason.

I always make sure that we buy the most basic, not-concentrated bleach.

For not-concentrated, you would need to use 1/8 tsp to 8 oz water. I use a 16 oz bottle so I use 1/4 tsp.
