    Ratios

    I work with my mother.
    Our license says:
May have up to 10 kids with no more than 4 under 2yrs
    Or
8 kids that can all be under two yrs old

My question is what about 9?
Could I have 5 kids under 2 yrs and 4 over?

My point of contact has been wrong before and I would just like to see how you guys interpret this rule.

I would say based on that rule no.

It’s says you can have up to 10 kids with no more than 4 being under age two. So you can have 9 or 10 but no more than 4 can be under age 2.

To me it is either/or, not a combination of both. My state is pretty literal like that. :: Too many tried to rationalize their way around it so my state simply dropped it to the lowest ratio and got rid of the option of group care entirely. We have two choices now, Family or Center. Nothing in between. Tread carefully.

"May have up to 10 kids with no more than 4 under 2yrs" : This would use the FCCERS. http://www.beanstalk.ws/images/FCC_ratescale.pdf

        Or

"8 kids that can all be under two yrs old" : This would use the ITERS. http://static.pdesas.org/content/doc...0(ITERS-R).pdf
