Raising Rates When Child Care Needs Change

I know I read in a thread somewhere that some of you only raise a family's rates when they change their contract. Like if they come in at a rate they don't get a rate increase unless they go from FT to PT, change their schedule etc.

Care to share your wording? I'm stumped.

    My rate sheet says:

Rates are based on each individual family's needs. Rates are not raised nor discounted unless the family's contract is edited, restructured or altered.

I am hoping to be able to do this with my families but I don’t have it in writing just in case my financial needs change.

There is nothing wrong with a cost of living raise.I always kept the open contract.I could change things with a two week notice.I did not use it often but it was there if needed.
