    Diaper Question

I have not bought diapers in 8 years. I forgot to tell dcp's I was running low on Friday.

Dh was headed to Sam's today so I asked him to grab a box of size 5 Huggies.

If I'm reading the box right, it says a child in size 5 should use 4 diapers a DAY. I change my little guy (2 1/2) at least 4 times a day. He's here about 10 hrs a day.

Am I over changing or what??

I’ve never read the box. My state regs say to change every 2 hours.

My own 2.5 year old goes through about 6 changes a day.
      Wake up
      Again around 9am
      Again before nap 1130
      After nap 200
      Around 5
      And again before bed

My daycare kids get diaper changes every 2 to 2.5 hours so if they are in care from 730am to 6pm they get aboutb 4 to 5 changes. (As needed as well with BMs)

To me 4 is on a very low end for a day, kid would have to be not peeing to much.

Was going to add, I have 5 diapers I keep of each size put away in a ziplock. I keep these as back up if I forget to warn a parent. I have in the past taken them from my own kids supplies to have on hand, but also offers a parent a cllfee bucks for a couple, but she just donated some.

I normally have back ups that I keep in a backpack in my car so it's never an issue. Unfortunately, sil had my car today.

Dcd offered to run to the store this am before work but I told him don't bother.

Maybe they are thinking by the time most children are in size 5 they have begun potty training and won't use as many diapers?

My newly 2 DS uses 6 diapers a day, unless he has additional BM that needs changing.
              1. Wake up (6:30)
              2. After Breakfast (8:45)
              3. Before Lunch (11:00)
              4. After Nap (1:45/2:00)
              5. Early Evening (4:30/5:00)
              6. Bedtime (7:30/8:00)

My DCK are changed every 2-2.5 hours, and when they are here 7:30-5/5:30, they typically have 4 or 5 diapers. Some kids are completely dry at diaper rounds and they stay in that dry diaper but they are always checked.
