This sounds JUST LIKE a situation I had about two years ago...Except the kid was ALMOST 4..The largest size diapers didn't fit, and EVERY TIME he peed, he SOAKED his pants, the floor, the chair he was sitting in, etc. I have a few extra pullups from kids that get trained before they use them all, and parents usually just tell me to keep them (they have no use for them since the kid's in underwear now...). Anyway, I finally tried using a pullup instead, and it fit. Then, I decided since he was SO BIG (like changing a 6 or 7 yr old, like you said), I would start trying to train him. At first, he was a little scared, but when he did it one time, he was thrilled. He loved watching his pee hit the water, and wanted to watch the bubbles...Seriously. Anyway, I told mom what we were doing, and she FINALLY sent pullups that fit. He was potty trained at daycare in a week, and started going at home in about 2 weeks. I think some parents just need a little push...They don't want their babies to grow up! So good luck, it can be done. Sounds like you are making progress already!!
Thanks, he's been doing really well here during the day staying dry, he does wet during naps and then the only other thing we need to work on is pooping in the potty, I hope here soon he'll start telling me he has to go
