I have had several infants trying to "enlarge" my board book images by spreading out their fingers across the screen. It is quickly becoming common. :dislike:- Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.- Flag

what's that motion called where they "knead" with their fingers? There's a name for it and I can't think of it. Too lazy to look it up when I have you.- Flag

It sat on the table for a long time before one of my pre-Kindy boys picked it up and asked if he could play with it.
He did all the finger motions to enlarge, he swiped left and then right and tapped his finger repeatedly on the screen. Finally he looked at me and said "I think this needs charging or it's broke"
When I told/showed him "how" to use it, he did it for about 60 seconds and lost interest.- Flag

I did not think palmar applied, but maybe it does. Nothing is technically touching the palm, but still seems to stimulate a grasp response. It does seem more inline with moro (when removed)/rooting (when received).- Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.- Flag

I had a 5 year old girl I started watching a year ago. She found a play phone (no batteries required) in our toys. She kept asking me "how does it work?", "what does it do?". I told her it doesn't do anything, its just for pretend - you pretend to talk to someone. She didn't understand, and just couldn't grasp the concept of it and lost interest immediately. If she saw me check a message on my phone she would ask to play on it, and I would always tell her no. She also didn't have a lot of imagination, when I got our Mega blocks she kept wanting me to tell her what to build, and the same with coloring pictures, she didn't know what to color and wanted me to tell her. I told her to build or color whatever you want, and she had a hard time with this. She couldn't stick with anything for more than 5 minutes, and got bored very easily. I just found it so sad.- Flag

That baby video is both scary and disgusting...and funny in a dark kind of way.
None of us have a smart phone with service (DS has one that he uses kinda like an ipad), but it's getting harder! More and more store promotions REQUIRE an iphone. You can't apply at some of the part time jobs without scanning on your iphone. What the heck?- Flag
