Fears

I have a boy that is 2 yrs old, he is afraid of a lot of things, such as monkeys singing the 5 little monkeys song, he was afraid of a turtle on tv, how would you help aleveate these fears? I have talked with him, have him sit on my lap and watch and explain it's ok they are being silly monkeys. I also don't want to just hold and cuddle him each time either. Any thoughts or ideas?
