I have a drop in that is a regular. He is special needs. He is 16 months, has CP and lots and lots of other issues. He is very very fussy. He can't communicate other than crying. He can't move with purpose. So I have to move him from place to place. He is around 25 pounds and is hard to carry because he is basically dead weight and has an oxygen tank to be carried around with him. He cries unless he is being held, and I just can't hold him all day. Not only because it kills my back to do so, but I have other kids to take care of. I have an interview today and I really shouldn't have taken him because he is once again super duper fussy. I move him from floor to swing to bouncy seat and can't get him happy anywhere but up over my shoulder. He can't hold his head up, so I can't put him in a bumbo or exersaucer. Any advice?? I am worn out and only 2.5 hours into my day! Ugh.
I Am Thinking That I Should Not Take This Child Again

he sounds like he needs a caregiver at home. I don't know let them know he takes up to much of your time and you will have two charge her enough to cover 2 kids so you can take in less to care for him.- Flag

Thanks everyone. He is a foster child, and has been thru a lot. State isn't doing much for him except providing an amazing home for him to live. His foster mom is amazing! Has done so much with him since he came to be with her. So since he is a foster child, they don't do much for him except allow her so many hours a week for him to be in a daycare so she can get a break (she has other kids and helps at their schools and etc). She doesn't trust anyone else to take care of him. And I really do love him, but he is a LOT of work! And our stupid state doesn't consider him special needs so I only get paid the state minimum for him! It is ridiculous!- Flag

Oh man - it sound like he needs a nurse, not a daycare provider. It's very sweet of you to have taken care of him as long as you have. He needs to go to a special school and early intervention program. Poor kid - CP is very tough on him and all involved.- Flag
