They got the paperwork, asked some questions, asked if I would watch the 10 year sometimes in the summer, and she said she would get back to me soon, but I think it's pretty much a done deal, she just wanted to talk it over with dad in private

      We'll find out soon!
Ten year old in the summer

Unless you like the devil school agers I would say no to that really quick.

ha - the devil school agers.

i would say no especially if SHE had a blast with her SON. 10 year olds of the opposite sex require way too much supervision.

hmm, acually you should be fine watching an older child in the summer, its when you have 5 or 6 10 yr olds that you are asking for trouble.

I don't particularly like watching older kids, but my son is homeschooled and he needs that interaction with kids around his age. He looks forward to summer because I always try to get at least one kid old enough for him to play with.

              So happy for you!

In regards to watching the 10 yr old girl, at least it's supposedly only on occasion & hopefully she'll make a good companion in the summer for your DS. However, let me say that a 10 yr old girl is going to be going through changes hormonally and she might just be a "devil school ager"! I watched my niece before and after school and during the summer while she was 10, and she was just an absolute roller coaster! One minute she'd be happy, loving, helping all the littles; and the next she'd be screaming at the top of her lungs at her siblings or off in a corner hiding and crying about something happening at school or home. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this girl, but this was a very hard age for her. She's almost 12 now, and much easier to deal with now than when she was 10. My neighbor is an elementary school counselor, and says that the 5th grade girls (ages 10-11) are the hardest age group to deal with. Just words of caution!

              Keep us updated!

i'm wondering if she's going to be 10 or actually 10 because she's in 3rd grade...my son will be 8 in a couple weeks and he's in 2nd grade
