As the days get closer and closer to the first it's no longer a surprise.
    Did you get your inspection?

Renewing our license each year (Utah) is an expensive pain in the neck. For some reason I imagined that CA would have way more oversight than us. But no apparently.
Same with NY, except our license is every 2 (new) or 4 years (renewals) but we have annual (announced) and semi annual (unannounced) inspections. They're here regularly.

Legally exempt can care for no more than 2 unrelated children, and churches are just allowed whatever (which is BS and a huge safety risk- they should at MINIMUM be required to comply with fire codes, cpr/first aid, and ratios)

LOL yes I did. I called him on the 31st and asked him when was he coming. He said he wasn't going to make it in time, so I asked if I had to close. He told me I would get a letter in the mail stating that my license was still good until the inspection. Letter didn't come for a week after my license expired, if I hadn't called I wouldn't of known I could stay open. He then came on the 6th last Wednesday after I was expired.

I got a few violations, one was expired paperwork that was not been expired if he had come on time. The other one was using my daughter's room to sleep a toddler, I did not have the proper paperwork filled out to add her room 2 the daycare space, which I didn't start using that space until after DD went to school, and if he had come on time, it wouldn't have been an issue.

DH was frustrated that he would count those against me since he was the one late coming to the inspections. I even explained to him that I was waiting for the new state form to have my parents fill out so they didn't have to update one form and then fill out new form later. I had sent a request in for the new forms with my application and he never mailed them to me nor called me to tell me that they weren't in yet. And we are required to use the new forms as of September 1st.

The best part is when he sent me my inspection report he had some errors in it and I requested he fix them, which he did promptly.
