When a baby turns 1 yr old do you wait until parents try all the foods you feed your daycare kids or do you just go ahead and give it? Like fish sticks and eggs? I'm having a hard time finding stuff to feed him and although mom gave me the ok to try these and I have never had an issue in the past I get nervous too serve them first, not so much the fish sticks but the eggs. Just wondering what others do do you just try them?

I request that the parent introduce any new foods and do so for atleast 30 days before I serve them here. I ask them to notify me of each new food as it is added to their diet.- Flag

my dr said not to give them eggs until 18 months, and pb until 2 years...i don't know about fish, my son is 13 months and hates meat in all forms- Flag

Thanks, Mom said they would try them but they haven't yet, it's been a few weeks and I can tell he's getting tired of eating the same things. I just need more options.- Flag

I serve my infants table food as soon as they can tolerate it by 12 months they are eating the same foods as the older ones. Except for high allergy items. Mine haven't had fish sticks but we do steamed whitefish and salmon. We do scrambled eggs after 18 mo. Until then it's cottage cheese, beans, etc for protein- Flag

Also...is cottage cheese a big hit? I haven't used that either...Jack is lactose intolerant but he can handle small doses of cheese and yogurt, so far he's only had shredded cheddar a few times and he didn't seem that impressed- Flag
