My system is to count the diapers and other supplies I have left on the child's last day for the week. If I do not have enough to last me another week (and a day) I send a note home saying I need the following (diapers, wipes, clothes)

I had one DCM that did question me needing diapers, she came on Monday without them and asked are you sure you need more, I just brought some last Monday. (which was true) I explained that I had enough for most of the week but I would run out mid-Thursday (their last day). I then explained that I always do a count and request more at the end of the week so they have the whole weekend to get the supplies together, instead of having to rush to the store at night for the next day. She understood and never questioned my supply again.

I do like bookworms inventory list, I attempted to do that when I first opened but could not find a good flow to do it.

I started out having the parents provide diapers and wipes and I had nothing but problems. Parents forgetting to bring more (for sometimes days) complaining that I used to many wipes. The list goes on. Finally I sent out a notice saying that I was going to start providing everything. Problem solved.
I actually had a parent complain that I was wasting wipes. (that child had some bad bms) One time of her witnessing a nasty diaper change and she never said anything again!
