I do not allow drop-ins but will allow currently enrolled families to add an additional day if space allows. (Most of my families are part-time, either M/W/F or T/TH). I charge a daily rate for the additional days (8:30am - 3:30pm) and do not offer them a half day option, with the fee being due that day. The fee is only slightly higher than my normal fee.

I find outside drop-ins of those not enrolled are tough on the child, the provider and sometimes the children in my program - so it's more work for me and just not worth it. IF you opt to do it I would do it as a daily rate for up to a certain number of hours and make sure that daily rate is higher than your normal rates!

My thought on it is that them coming on that day takes up a spot so they need to pay the rate for them spot. I've heard a lot about people doing hourly and then the parents complain or get down to the nitty-gritty of how much is due and then if they're not on time and all that fuss so I was figuring a daily rate with a maximum time limit would limit the amount of problems that could arise and also make it worth my time

Yup. I charge $75/day (for ANY amount of time) for drop ins.
