I do but it always seems to bite me in the butt and I am thinking about just keeping the info to myself. I posted last week about daycare boy who had fever and I sent him home ad Mom got all huffy because he had to stay home fever free 24 hours and she said well your child had a fever Monday and you opened I feel like if they are gonna use this info against me to argue my policy then why should I tell them and be considerate to them.
Do You Tell Your Daycare Parents When YOUR Child Is Sick?

I don't. I keep them separate. They are either in their rooms or mine. They aren't at "daycare" playing with their friends. They are in another part of the house and do not mingle with daykids.- Flag

It depends what it is. My kids are in their rooms when they are sick. If they have strep or something like that normally I do let them know but not always. I am always worried that they will find out somehow and then will say way did you not tell me?- Flag

My sick kids stay in the living room or their rooms and my daycare area has a designated space. No mingling. My dc parents know bc they see my kids laying on the couch watching movies and I make a point to ee the dc kids out during drop offs and pick ups.- Flag

I always tell them since my daughter is only 2, so she has to be with us. Last November she got really sick with the stomach bug and my husband stayed home with her and didn't come out of the bedroom at all. I still told all of my families and they came anyways and fortunately no one got sick.- Flag

No
My son has never been a part of the day care so his being sick wouldn't affect the kids in any way. I have a staff assistant so if he needs one to one care there is an adult available for him.- Flag

I always tell them--my daughter is only 3, so she has to be with us. Unless she is so sick that I need to give her one on one attention to look after her, I leave it up to the parents if they want to bring their kids or not. I do daycare so my little girl can stay at home with her mom, so I'm not going to send her away when she's sick to have daycare kids here....if I lose some money, oh well. If she was older, it would be different.- Flag

No, but my kids have never been a part of the daycare. Like other PP, my daycare space is completely seperate from my family space. Depending on how my kids feel (active vomiting, pain, etc.) I will stay with them and get DH/My Mom to keep the daycare or vice versa if they feel fine but cannot go back to school yet.- Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.- Flag

If my son is very sick with something like the flu I will close. My son needs all of ME when he is really sick.
If he is too sick to go to school because he has a fever with no other symptoms or a bad cold or a throat infection or something minor I will notify parents and let them decide.
I do the same as well when I am sick yet still well enough to be able to function (although slowly) I tell the parents that I am not closing however I have a very bad head cold, cough or whatever and they can decide for themselves whether they want to bring their child. Most times the children have all been exposed to whatever it is already!
I am very fortunate I have always had awesome children and parents though!- Flag

This is what I was doing telling the parents my child is sick and telling them I am open and they can bring their child if they choose too they have to pay either way I have sick days ad personal days for closing, and they have to pay if there child is out too. I guess I'm just tired of hearing the remarks or the looks on there face when I say one of my kids are sick. I dont like when there kids come in with a cold, coughing everywhere, sneezeing, but I dont give looks, or make commets about how I hope my kids dont get it but they sure do.- Flag

I used to but I do not anymore. I used to close...then I used to call the parents and give them the choice of coming and they ( all of them ) came every single time..so now I don't even bother unless its something serious then I close..virus or something small..I keep it to myself.- Flag
