    Choosing a vacuum cleaner

I've seen so many questions about vacuums, so I thought I'd share these links from Consumer Reports about satisfaction rates:

In a Consumer Reports vacuum survey, owners of Miele uprights were satisfied with their vacuum even if it broke.

I personally love my canister vacuum. I worked as a housecleaner formerly and this particular one is my favorite for many reasons.

    Ease of use
    Efficiency
    Lightweight
    Does a great job
    Small to store
    Gets under couches and beds
Has a hose attachment that's quick to use

It seems that canisters are always the top performers in tests. I have thought of getting one many times, but most are not bagless (I know that the vacs with bags are better, but I LOVE not using bags!). I haven't used a canister for 30 years, but I remember how convenient they were!

I pick a vacuum based on its use. I don't mind if it has a bag or not but the canister vacuum bags last me many months and I sometimes vacuum my covered porch (leaves n dirt)
