    Website

My website content was deleted from the hosting site because I did not pay to renew it in time (although they usually called me in the past ). I paid to have it renewed and then found out that my old content cannot be uploaded. GoDaddy is saying they cannot get it to work.

I have tried to create a new website via Wix but am having a horrible time on my MacBook with it. Is it because of the MacBook? Would it be easier on a Windows computer? Simple things like inputting information, saving pages, having them flow are taking an endless amount of time and I am getting no where. I am very frustrated. I'm out $300-something for GoDaddy hosting, more money for the domain name, and I have nothing to show for it. My website looked very nice before.

I lost 2 websites to go daddy when I was less than 24 hrs behind... I have always used a Mac - I paste & copy from my back up on Pages Docs. I have never had to pay for them to host my pages; maybe that's a new thing as most of my .coms were bought years ago

$300 something? For how many years of hosting?

Check www.archive.org and see if they have a copy of your website. If they do, you can get some or all of it from there. If they have a copy and you're not sure how to get it, PM me if you want me to look.

If you need any kind of help with website or domain issues, that was my business since 2002.

I use and Mac and have no problems. I do have my domain thru GoDaddy but have my email thru my site builder. Closer to when my payment to GoDaddy is set to renew..... I plan to switch the domain out to them as well so the number of people I have to pay to have my site is streamlined to one instead two.

I wanted a wordpress site at some point but found it was taking me more time than I desired to get the site up.... then I started playing with website builders. I tried Wix, Weebly and Squarespace and of the three I felt Wix was the most annoying and the least mobile friendly. I liked the design options and ease of use on Weebly and Squarespace better. Ultimately I went with Squarespace and it is so easy!

I love webs.com. I pay for my domain name and my annual hosting (around $100/yr?) and have NEVER had an issue. It's auto renew on my cc.

I supposedly have a backup copy in my e-mail from a man ( computer client) who helped me with it over a year ago. But, GoDaddy is saying it won't upload to their website now and it's magically missing a piece?!

I believe it is for 3 years of hosting or so.

I know a few people that have had issues with GoDaddy in the past, but they have been able to upload their sites again so i'm not sure why they're saying yours won't work. In regards to your mac, the mac works fine, it is most likely WIX that has the problem. Their user interface isn't really user friendly

What was the address? You may be able to see if its cached on Google or you can use www.archive.org

I created my website on Wix using Windows with no problems. I found it to be very user friendly. So im thinking your issues with it may be because it is not as compatible with Macs. I have gotten behind on my Wix renewal and it was never deleted or even taken offline. I think i was a couple of weeks late in renewing. I would be really upset if my website was just GONE! Thats pretty wrong in my opinion.

It makes me pretty sad. A lot of time and money was spent on getting it to the point it was at.

Still working on trying to make a Wix website. It is giving me bad anxiety. I'm sure my hormones don't help things.

They claim it's missing information, which is weird since the man backed it up after he worked on it and it worked just fine for a year!

I am messaging you. I GREATLY appreciate it!

We use wordpress.com for our website. It costs like $30/year for our own domain and we've found it to be super easy and very customizable, and it's not set up like a blog at all.
