    FBI Background Check

So there is absolutely no way a kindercare child care or any child care facility will hire someone with a child abuse misdemeanor. Even though the offense was 9 years ago. Its not how it seems either, its hard to explain to anyone. But once anyone hears they automatically think the worst possible situation. So, another thing I'm not good at explaining what happened. I always thought a fbi check would only be concerned with felonies? And does the fbi check go back a certain amount of time?

When it comes to working with children and you have a child abuse misdemenaer I don't think an explanation matters or whether or not it is a felony. They are very strict about that stuff when it comes to the vulnerabke sector. They might not care if you wanted to work somewhere where kids are not present.

Most (all?) states don't even allow anyone with any sort of child abuse to work in child care, so the center's opinion on the matter wouldn't even be relevant.

As far as I know, FBI checks go back through your entire lifetime.
