Have No Idea What To Do

One of my dcd got sick today and went home from work early. Well, daycare girl's grandma picked up. She said something about keeping them tonight. So, I called dcd at 8 and asked if the girls were going to be here at 6:15 am.. and he said probably not but he had to call the grandma and find out what was going on in the morning. He hasn't called and it's 10:20pm!! I texted him 20 mins ago and asked if the girls where going to be here at 6:15 as they are my first drop off of the morning and I need to know for food count. No response!

What would you do?! I really don't want to call and wake him up as he sounded like he had the stomach flu. I really don't see grandma being here at 6:15, but who knows. Would you get up at 6 and just wait to see? I wish I had grandma's number.

That is a tough one. I personally would be awake at the normal time and just be prepared to curl up on the couch with coffee and a book until they show up. does grandma have your number at least or does all contact have to go through dad? Is she listed as an emergency contact?

what I do in those situations is get up, get dressed, go in my living room, turn on the tv, and doze in the recliner until i hear the doorbell

Grandma is a pick up person but no phone number listed on the card. They have a friend for an emergency contact. Tonight contact goes threw dcd to grandma. Grandma said she would call dcd tonight and get my number and call me and let me know what was going on (I tried to give it to her at pick-up but she insisted on getting it from him). No phone call from either. Guess I'll go to bed and be up at 6.

Thank You so much for responding!!! Have a Great Friday!!

So, dcd texted me this morning at 7 am... to say he thought he told me last night they weren't going to be here at 6:15 (nope he said "probably not, but he had to call grandma in a couple mins and find out then call me back" He never called!) then he informs me he still needs to call grandma and see what's going on today, but if the girls come it wouldn't be until later... So, am I suppose to put all my plans for today on hold for the "if and when might not be until later", later when?! I have to take my own son to school! I have to go shopping! I have things to do! UGH!

Daycare Dad got sick and left work early. So, grandma picked up and kept the kids but dad (I understand dad is sick) but I got up at 6 am and he didn't text me until 7 am to tell me that they weren't really coming. Then he doesn't know if they are coming and if they are he doesn't know what time.. he said "if they come it wouldn't be until later" He had to call Grandma still!! I so feel like I'm being taken advantage of and I want to stop it now but don't know how. My husband says I'm paid for a service and need to be up just in case they come. So, do I put my whole day on hold for the "IF"?

Dad got sick yesterday. I'm not sure if they are coming as daycare dad doesn't even know because he hasn't talked to grandma! UGH! I would love to tell to stay home but it's not in my policy if the parent is sick they have to stay home to. It's only if the kids are sick.

                      My opinion!

My dcg was dropped off at 11am instead of 6am on monday when the mom had the "food poisoning" (stomach flu!). She didn't know so I can't be mad. They had said they didn't know if dcg was coming and if she did it would be later morning.

My suggestion..... RUN FOR THE HILLS! AND DON'T LOOK BACK!

My hubby is same as yours, it's my business I should **** it up and be open regardless. But you need to protect your whole household. If dad has flu, kids will too. If he's waiting to hear from grandma, that means they are waiting to see how the kids are feeling.

Maybe you can tell them the stomach flu is going around, and because of that, you need to wait the 2 days to make sure they are not sick. Might have to tell them free of charge :S since you are being careful, but it's not fun this flu!

Yes, last night would have been better but you have a day off now. Is this family your only one?

Nope, I have an infant and toddler dcks...both are really easy going. It makes for a GREAT Friday!! One leaves by 3pm and the other will sleep until 5pm (mom and dad say let her sleep as long as she wants!!) and then get picked up! I'm very excited!!

I hope you have a really GREAT friday, too!!
