    Thoughts?

"my" kids all have a cold. No fever, acting fine, runny nose, a little sleepier, no big deal.

I sent a 3yo home this week on Tuesday- his cough was HORRENDOUS, he was having constant meltdowns, nose running continuously, low grade fever. I have the 24/48 hour rule.

Child came back today, still obviously not 100%, but it was workable and he was able to participate.

Mom drops off and says dcb had a low grade fever Tuesday, but he has been on the upswing, cough has not been disrupting sleep since Tuesday either. I ask a few more questions- no fever yesterday or this morning, no dr visit, runny nose better. Mom says yup, no fever, no meds, no need for a dr visit.

At lunch, he has been dry all day (heavy wetter) I sent Mom a text and he has been refusing fluids, not a huge fan of milk or water on a good day anyway/not eating so well so she wasn't surprised. so I gave them all a small amount of juice.

He's sleeping next to me right now. I can smell the antibiotic pee. You know the smell. I was obviously lied to.

No one believes me when I say I can smell meds in the pee.

    Thank you for validating me.

    I always mention it too.
"Julie's urine smells like medication. Is she on AB?"
"No, she's had a little cold but no meds"
"I think she needs to see the doc. I'm worried maybe the infection I smell Could be a UTI"
    "Oh. Are you sure?"
    "Yes. It's really strong. "
Magically Julie has a uti and is on meds all of a sudden.

I have suspected meds on a couple of occassions but without proof I have to just let it go. I am not as experienced as some of you ladies! I just have the child who was completely clear in the am and hyper wake up from nap congested, watery eyes and full on cold.

I would straight up confront her on it if you are sure.
