Posting Vacation Time Off on Website

So I'm finally to the point of building my website (yay! this is kind of fun!) and I want to post my rates. I'm wondering if I should also post my vacation policy?

I think I should b/c I'm writing 3 weeks unpaid vacation in my contract. So, when I post my rates, I want parents to know this is my weekly rate for 49 weeks out of the year (not 52).

I don't want to post how much it is annually - I think it'll look much nicer and be easier to read in a weekly rate format.

Also... should I also post my 1 wk PTO (for sick and emergencies) and the 6 paid holidays I take? I guess I don't see a need to post those since they're paid.

I have a link to my parent handbook on my website but none of those items are listed on my website except my rate. I have lots of warm and fuzzy stuff, pictures and general information but not a lot of details. If parents are really interested they will click on the links that I have for my menu, parent handbook or our daily schedule. If you would like to see my website PM me and I will send you a link. I have been told by many parents and providers that they like my site.

I agree with TX. Just a link to the handbook.

That's a great idea. I saw one website where it had a page with the entire handbook. The top of the page had a Table of Contents with clickable links that jumped you down to that section if you clicked on it. Come to think of it I found that site somewhere on this forum. I really want to try to do something like that if I can figure it out on Wordpress

If you wouldn't mind PM'ing me that would be awesome!

My website is pretty big, but then again so is my handbook (36 pgs ) I don't necessarily list my vacation dates or my specific rates right on the website pages but not because I don't want potential clients to know those things but because they are fluid so they change and adapt to the current group at the time.

I do link families to my handbook and paperwork but not until AFTER we've met and done the initial orientation, then I "unlock" the links for parents to download and print the required forms for admission.

Information for a potential client or the general public = website
Information for a newly enrolled or currently enrolled client = handbook/enrollment paperwork, Parent Section of website and on-going conversation

^^^ That is the method I used to decide what to use/not use online.

That's how I had to do mine on my website Weebly, it wouldn't load my handbook for viewing properly so I had to what you described with drop down sections of each topic. It may have been a app that I had to add into the website

I have a link to my parent handbook. My handbook just lists holidays that I'm closed and says that if i need to take anything else off, they will be given as much notice as possible.
On my website, i have my closures listed. I have everything planed by January so that parents have plenty of notice.
I also have my closures posted on my parent board, emailed to each family and i hand them out at tours.

There is zero reason for a parent to forget or complain about closures.
