    Driveway Part 2

So I posted about my tough driveway (in the winter). Everyone gave me great advice. We are using a mix of sand and salt with a spreader, and having our snow plow guy drop our mix, too. We are on this every night and morning.

We have had some ice and a lot of melt. My driveway is almost dry at this point.

I have one parent come in every day and complain about it. Thinking I should do something. Every other parent says the driveway is "great!" This dcf drives a car 2 inches off the ground with balding tires.

I'm having a "people stink" week, so I'd like to tell this dcf to go jump off a cliff But I'd regret that...so...words please? Winter is going to get much worse.

    Dear DCP's

In an effort to address the driveway conditions, some Midaycare clients will have a small rate increase beginning immediately.

This rate increase will help cover the cost of ALL maintenance and attention to the driveway.
The new rate increase will be approximately $25 per day.

During snow falls of more than .05 cm an additional fee will be assessed so that a "Driver Assistant" can be posted at the beginning and end of the driveway for your traveling needs. This additional fee is $75 per day on top of the before mentioned fee of $25 per day.

Those parents that ARE able to independently travel the driveway and are not needing discussion or assistance in completing the journey will not have additional fees applied to their weekly invoices.

Please note should you chose to make the trip unassisted, no further discussion about this subject will be provided.

Thank you all for your consideration in this matter. Your safety is my utmost concern. Please let me know which option your family will be choosing.

    Sincerely,

    Provider with a long driveway

Good grief--what's to complain about? Some people will complain no matter what you do. I wouldn't even engage in the discussion...it probably wouldn't make a difference. However, if you do choose to respond to them, BC's letter is perfect!

That was my first instinct this morning...I'm normally all "give people the benefit of the doubt"...but then someone left a crappy note on my truck yesterday about my parking skills Now I'm all..."Go on, mention the driveway again...cause I'm in no mood. Humanity stinks." ::
