Happy Thanksgiving all you Wonderful people!!

8 hours until my holiday weekend.
I'm blessed to be able to spend it w some of the people I hold closest in my heart.

This year, take a moment to remember those who are missing from the table.

    Remember their smile.
Remember the times they did silly things.
Remember the times they raised you up and encouraged you through a battle.

Take a moment to thank those protecting what you hold dear.
For the police and fire heroes that live in our communities.
For the soldiers and sailors who protect our great nation.
For the protectors and elders who risk more than their lives to defend our lands.

Take a moment to listen to the sounds around you.
    The giggling children.
    The bubbling sauces.
The dog barking when someone pulls in the drive.
The simple quiet after everyone goes home.

Be thankful for your life. Even when it's hard.
Be thankful of the crazy family opinionated family members who drive you bonkers.
Be thankful for the messes, the stains, the burnt food, the memories.
Some would do anything to have what you complain about.
Be Blessed my wonderful friends. In all that you do and all that you are.

Well said, Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

We have an odd tradition where we set a plate at the table with pictures around it of the loved ones not with us anymore. It keeps them in our thoughts. "Remember the year..." It also gives us a chance to hear family stories we weren't old enough/born yet, and for our children to hear those stories, too.

Most beautiful thing I've read in a very long time Laundrymom. There are many loved ones I'm missing dearly. They'll always be a part of me wherever I go and I wish like crazy they were here.
Plus my 2 dds who won't be coming home for Thanksgiving. They'll be going to their boyfriends' family's Thanksgivings. But at least they have somewhere to go and extra family who loves them.
May you all have a healthy and Happy Thanksgiving!
