Have any of you dealt with a situation where one child is singled out and no one will play with them? I have a three year old girl who is slightly developmentally delayed and the other children consistently exclude her from play and are actually mean to her. Any suggestions?

We have a girl at the daycare who is about three also and is usually left to play alone. When I notice this I go over to her and talk about something that would draw interest in from the others. Most of the group is girls so I might mention how pretty her shirt is or the neat colors or designs on the toy she is holding and the other kidss overhear it and want to come check it out. Then they get involved in playing together for a little bit. Most of the time for table activities though she gets to share and talk to the others too just because they're all my each other then.
