Today, dcb is 'extra sensitive' and 'so sad' about being told he couldn't bring his bag full of candy to daycare.

I have been pleasantly surprised! A few were dragging a little earlier, but perked up quickly.

Not well!!!! Dcb came wearing same clothes as he wore yesterday because they stay out so late he slept in his clothes. Mom sent a bag of
Clothes to change dcb in to when he feels like it. Ugh! Same kid picked pain off my wall in the timeout spot. Threw huge tantrum because he got in trouble for picking the paint. Same daycare boy screamed he wanted to be killed. Ugh done with this s**t today!

I was too! I had prepared for complete meltdown mode, but everyone was surprisingly normal. I put them down for nap about 15 mins earlier and they are all sleeping, which is unusual, but I guess they probably just stayed up a bit later than usual but weren't allowed to binge on candy. Rotten moms like me...

I gave my DD the pretzels out of her candy bag and that's it. She didnt know any better. Although Mommy did nibble a Kit-Kat

I have 11 out of 12 here today. Some were begging for nap time and fell asleep the second their head rested on their cot. Otherwise, it has been pretty normal!

I warn all of mine that I don't put up with "extra sensitive" the day after a candy centered holiday.

I had one (23 months) come FULL of sensitivity....

Texted mom and asked about the previous night's activities/schedule and was told "all was normal. bed time included."

Hmmmm, 'cuz that's not how big sibling told it. In their version little sibling ate so much candy they threw up and that grandma had to call the parents (home from their party) in the middle of her show and she was mad!

Well, I happen to know grandma and I know what "her show" is and what time its on.
...and it's alot past DCK's bed time so yeah, sorry mom not buying it.

DCK was sent home. Can return Thursday.

IF they are feeling back to 100%.

My 2.5 yr dcg didnt sleep last night and skipped he nap yesterday, no doubt from being dragged around all day with all of her relatives. I swear she is a pony show sometimes. She is pleasant though so it doesnt affect me but she still has the cold she had from last Monday

Anyway she wrnt down early for nap and I let her sleep late

My kids were out kind of late. We got home at 9:30, but DS4 was not actually asleep until 10:30. My mom is in town from out of state so she stayed with my kids today and they will return to daycare tomorrow...

Sounds kind of like a crappy day for daycare workers though =(

How is everyone else's post Halloween sugar crash going?

3 yr old convinced his very gullible parents to let him keep his candy bucket in his room overnight and he promised 'so so hard' that he wouldn't eat any of it. They found candy wrappers all over his room this morning but 'weren't sure if he ate any of it.' I was waiting for him to puke everywhere but he never did.

3.5 year old was extremely over stimulated from the Halloween hoopla and her behavior was, we'll say challenging.

My assistant has tonsillitis so she was out today.

Picked up 4 year old from preschool and she looked like h*ll. Teacher said 'yeah she seemed tired today.' Got home and grabbed the thermometer, 102.8 nice. Sent her home.

3 yr old who started in undies here last week came in a diaper today. Mom said there were undies in his bag when I get a chance to change him into them. She didn't have time this morning. Being in a mood this morning I shot back 'If you don't have time with 1 kid, I don't have time with 12.'

Overall just a rough day.

I vote that Halloween be on the last Saturday of October. kind of like Thanksgiving and Voting. Not a set date, just the last Saturday of the month.

So in return, all children were napped much later than normal (we spent most of the day outside running off the junk and having a "healthy picnic"), and woke up just in time to go home with lots and lots of energy!

I sent my sensitive dcb home yesterday.

My incredibly mild mannered, sweet heart of a dcg pushed him yesterday. She was so shocked she was speechless. I have NEVER seen her even raise her voice to anyone. EVER. I didn't even punish her, he was a holy terror and she was pushed to her limit and I was mid runny poo diaper change with a 2.5yo dcb.
