I do but I live smack dab in the middle of town. Trick or treating is from 5-7 here and I close at 6 so any kids still here at 5 get to help pass out candy.
Do You Pass Out Candy?

We've lived in this house for about 18 years and I can count on one hand the number of trick-or-treaters we've had in all that time. We live on a fairly dark, country road and the houses aren't all that close to each other. Every year, I buy a bag of candy just in case... but we always end up eating it instead.- Flag

We don't get many, but I keep a bowl of candy just in case. I also help get rid of it if we have leftovers
We just got back from taking our kids out to an awesome neighborhood! We only went to a few bc it's rainy and cold, but I loved that the weather didn't stop anyone and it was so fun! There were more houses with lights on than off, so it was great and the kids had a blast! Happy Halloween everyone!- Flag

We used to, but haven't since we moved to this house.
We still go back to our old neighborhood where dd lives. The HOA provides hot dogs, chips, candy, and soda/water. It's a small tract, less than 175 houses. People were coming in by the truck loads tonight. There were a lot of teenagers and adults trick or treating.
Some of the local churches used to have big Harvest Festivals. Someone wrote an article in the paper that they were still celebrating Halloween regardless of what they called it. That put a stop to the churches celebrating.- Flag

I don't "not" celebrate. We just do everything at the church. We live in the country and dont have trick or treaters.
That's why I don't have candy here. We aren't here.

I have always passed out candy, but after this year I don't think I will any more. We had a handful of younger kids in the first 20 minutes, after that it was mostly older (I'm talking probably high school into college) people, most not even dressed up. Couldn't even be bothered to say Trick or Treat or even Thank You.
I'll be known hereafter as The Crochety Old Lady on the block after I began answering the door with "Seriously?" ::

Our neighborhood was hopping tonight! It was so fun! There were several houses that had set up haunted walks in their backyards, fog machines, music, lights. It was crazy! There were tons of young children, and even the older kids were dressed up and polite. It was just lovely. Super busy 6-8:30, and then quiet. Just perfect. And my cider with a touch of whiskey kept me cozy and warmI hope everyone had a great night too

We are on a side street and it's hit or miss whether we have kids or not. Some years we get a lot and others, well, this year we only had 5.- Flag

We get no trick or treaters, our church does trunk or treat, which is the only place we ever take dd. this year we did a trunk and dd passed out candy, it was the highlight of her night, she did not want to leave.
As for Dck, I got miniature pumpkins and had dd decorate them (since dck are too young) sent one home with each dck.- Flag

I only live 5 miles out of town but my driveway is over 3/4ths of a mile long and is in a heavily wooded area on a dead end road so needless to say we get very few Trick or Treaters at my house.
Most years, I took my kids to my MIL's house to ToT and my DH would hand out candy while my MIL and I walked the kids around her neighborhood. After we got back, my MIL would watch the kids so my DH and I go out and celebrate my birthday.
Now that my kids are older and we don't participate much in any type of Halloween activities. It's NOT my favorite holiday so..
I do buy a bag of candy "just in case" we get a ToT'er but the last few years have not produced any so...I bring the candy to daycare and give it to the kids.
Trunk or Treating at churches, the local mall and area community centers are popular around here. It's usually cold and/or snowy so indoor celebrations are usually preferred.- Flag

I'm jealous of you that don't get trick or treaters! I bought $200 worth of candy and it was 85%-90% gone by the end of the night. I couldn't even count the number of kids that went through here last night. Kids tend to travel to our neighborhood to trick or treat, plus there are kids in most homes in our development. Parents use it as a social night (they roam in packs with their kids with giant mixed drinks in their hand). I'm not a fan of Halloween, personally, but the neighbors certainly are!- Flag

But I'd be annoyed with dc families insisting I needed to see their kids. Um, no. Who are they to tell you where you have to be on Halloween? Weird!- Flag
