So my barely-3yo dcg was out sick for a week, and definitely backslid on the "We use words instead of flying into a screaming wordless rage the moment we want something or start to suspect we might get sad about something." Seriously, she goes from happy to SCREAMING CROUCHING IN AGONY at least once every fifteen minutes.
So there's that. Additionally, over the last month she's decided she's a nudist, and keeps showing up here with no underwear on.
She's at the tail end of a virus and was only able to stay for a partial day yesterday--she's just really out of it. Today, she only napped for .5 hrs (usually 2-2.5 hrs) and did her usual "wake up screaming and complaining" routine, but never broke out of it. Wouldn't go back to sleep. Went into the bathroom, stripped, and now has been in there for an entire hour, screaming as loudly as she can. Won't use words. Won't let me hug her. It's not an "I'm hurt" scream; it's her usual, "I can't emotionally handle this so I'm going to scream" scream. Adamantly won't put on undies.
It's way too late in the day to force her into clothes and put her into a crib to scream herself back to sleep.
What would you do? I'm inclined to just keep the door to the playroom partially shut so she doesn't disturb everybody else, and keep checking on her every few minutes. When she sees me, she screams "I don't want you! Go away!"
