I am just wondering if any of you make them on your own.

Do you have examples that you can share?

I did the mitten theme once and make mittens of different colors, tape it on the file folder then laminate the exact colour of mitten and let the kids match them.

Here are two of mine. This post made me think I need to make some more. The one with the mittens, I just printed out matching pictures of mittens from clip art. One set is in the envelope and they match them with the ones on the top. The pumpkin one is laminated on a pocket folder. The pumpkin matches are in the pockets. Can't remember where I printed the pumpkins out from.
The aren't fancy, but the serve their purpose.
