    Nervous

Right now I only have 2 infants (& my own preschooler) in my care. Both babies started around the same time so it was pretty rough, but we have finally gotten ourselves into a routine. Im supposed to have a preschooler old start tomorrow. Im excited that my own child will have someone around the same age to play with, but Im already a little worried about this family. They asked if they could start yesterday, then never showed. I dont have paperwork or a check in my hand so I went on with my day. This family has already shown me that theyre flaky, but honestly Im desperately competing with the big name preschools in my area. Last night DCM says she doesnt have the required paperwork since theyre coming from another state. I told her its fine, but the child cannot start until she has it & that they previous daycare can fax it to me if its easier. Today they faxed the papers & they want to start tomorrow. DCM asked if this week would be prorated & I said fine but PER THE CONTRACT, next week starts full payment regardless of attendance. DCM then says that some days she will need to be dropped off earlier then what she told me. So I explained contracted hours & over-time fees AGAIN & redirected her to that page in my contract.

So yeah, Im a little worried.

At least you are seeing the red flags and can then be prepared with the right policy reminders, bills for extra fees etc.

    Good luck.

"Oh I see. Okay, don't forget that you have to run it by me in advance if you ever have to drop off early to make sure that I wake up on time. The earlier the better but 7 days minimum at least. Anything out of your contracted schedule hours I can do for let's say .... $5 for every half hour. Oh! Except for before 8am and after 5:30pm. That's overtime for me and I'll do that for hmm ... let's say $7 for every 30 minutes. I was thinking of charging more but I'll give you a discount"

            update

*surprise* no call/no show today. Seriously? Who does that? At this point this is totally my fault for even continuing to entertain this mess :dislike:
