Reassure Me, My Safe Sleep Friends

Once they roll I can let them. Correct?
I've spent the week flipping babies to their backs during nap. It feels so wrong to let them belly sleep. They flip within 15 seconds. It's been a tug of war w them this week.
They are just shy of four months and flipping both directions.
    It just feels wrong.
    Ugh.

ALL of my most recent babies in the past 3 years have rolled very early and yes, once they do it on their own, you don't have to flip them back over again.

In my state we have to have a signed slip from parents acknowledging the baby is rolling over and if we don't have that, they can only sleep on their backs.

Once they begin to roll (either way) we can no longer swaddle. I use sleep sacks the FIRST time they roll over.

I try to refrain from using the swaddler at all but some babes just need it for a bit and others don't. I guess it depends on the baby.

ALL infants under 12 months in my program sleep less than 10 feet from me at all times so they are within sight and sound. Once they are 1 yrs old, they move to the napping area with the rest of the kids but until then, they sleep right in my line of vision. I don't know if that is safer or not but it's more comforting for me.

I never swaddle. Haven't since my cousins baby died of aids. I use sleep sacks from day one if it's chilly but haven't really W this set. I just lay them down. The little boogers are rolling fools though. Lol.
      Ok. I'll relax.

Once they can flip, they are good.

They are more susceptible to SIDS during those first few weeks of flipping, though, so close supervision is recommended.

My licensor also recommends putting a dolphin sticker on the crib rail once they can flip as documentation to limit any chance of an overzealous or power hungry (read "malicious") new inspector with something to prove from citing you.
        - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

It is easier than finding ones that literally say "flipper". I think some centers use puppies = roll over/sit up.

They do make them commercially that say "I can flip" or "I can roll over".

It works like the allergy stickers on cubbies and cribs for instant documentation. It is more for centers where teachers move in and out, but is being recommended for home care as well.

              Ahhhhh. I see. Ok.
One thing I do... I bought single use concert bracelets. The ones you get at like, - haunted house or a paid for event. I use a sharpie or pen to write what I need. And affix to crib like it was an arm. I label cribs. High hairs, my gas shut off, seats in the stroller, etc. I got 500 for next to nothing. I'll use that and make a note. "This baby rolls over. Use care when handling."
