    Conferences?

I run a family childcare and treat it as a preschool. Do any of you schedule conferences with parents periodically? And what do you discuss?
    child development/behavior?
    progress in the program?

I love the idea as a way to keep good communication between parents and myself but not sure i have enough to discuss for a "conference" or "meeting".

I am required to have parent conferences twice a year. Once in the beginning of our school year and once near the end. I go over anything that pertains to their child's growth and development. Including academics.

I have to have parents sign off on this as well so that I have "proof" of my ability to work with parents and families.

I run a preschool and do not offer parent conferences unless they are scheduled by the parent.

I provide three report cards to track progress in many domains, I interact daily with the parents and send home an electronic Daily Report that has notes on it, and I address any concerns or wonderful things as they occur. It works for me.
