    What a Day!

So I had my first licensing visit today. It went pretty well, I got a violation for not reporting that injury within 24 hours because I should have called the live line, but I called my licensor and left a message. Seriously, that was not CLEAR AT ALL in the guidelines.

Anyhow, during this visit, I had a parent drop off her kid (16m) for his third day. He's been crying quite a bit, so of course since everything is new here, he spends the entire time in tears. Then my other DCG is crying because I'm holding him and not her (and I never hold kids, this was an expemption), my baby is crying because he's hungry.

All while this is happening my sub, who I just told I wouldn't be able to use her since I was planning on using her for Drs. Appts, and I don't have insurance until the end of Oct, this sub shows up without telling me, asking for all her paperwork back. Since I'm so busy I just hand her all the sheets she gave me. She leaves.

Then comes back 30 minutes later telling me she wants the originals (they WERE the originals), and her livescan back. I told her what I had was in that stack, and she was like "You're going to steal my SSN, give me my stuff back". I then told her to leave my property and come back in a few hours when things weren't as chaotic, and she refused. I went to shut my door and she physically barricaded herself in the doorway. After a brief struggle I managed to get her out, and shut my door. I called the police, she sat on my porch for 30 minutes waiting for me.

The police came and told her she had no right to be there, and that I wasn't obligated to give her back ANY paperwork. I told the officer the only sheet of paper I have was the livescan transfer form. She never gave me a copy of her background check, and all the papers were in PEN (NOT copies).

This is all while kids are crying, my licensor is asking me questions, and I'm just flipping out.

    So glad that is over.

PS. I have to make my play structure inaccessible or get rid of it. They don't want kids under 3 on there which is understandable, but if I do that older kids will not be able to use it. So I'm just gonna sell it

Wow. Now that's a day. Can you put one of those big plastic play yards around the structure? Some of them connect to make them as big as you need.

I'm so sorry it was such a difficult day. It will soon be over and tomorrow will be better!

At least you found out your sub is a nut before you used her.

I am moving in a Mo the and am set to sell it in October. So I'm just gonna ask them if they want it sooner.

Oh, I thought my afternoon was going rough, then I read about your day. You poor girl!

Find a way to relax tonight! Maybe melt your stress away in a bubble bath?

Wow, that is intense! And the sub/police incident happened while your licensing rep was there?

Yes, all while she was there. She even came out and told the lady to leave and there are children here, and to not make a scene. Didn't make a difference.

Unbelievable! Good thing she's gone before working with you and your dc kids.

If you can survive a day like that, you can survive running a daycare. ::
