    Camoflauging Toys?

I have a separate toy area in our basement. I also have toys in the living room. I would like to merge our old recreation room with the toys so we can use our basement this winter. I just don't know how to hide/store the toys. I want them accessible for the kids yet I would also like to have the room functional.

    Any ideas?

Curtains - use Velcro or rods to hang curtains. I did a search (curtain hiding shelf) and attached one picture. I am doing this to the changing table to hide the diaper pail and supplies from the kids. I am using pillow cases with Velcro.

Use non kid furniture. This the dresser we use in my son's room for toys, and a friend of mine has it in her living room for her child's toys. The cloth drawers are super easy for kids to take out. Neutral colors help it feel grown up. We go it at costco

I can't stand toys everywhere. DD has her own private toys in her room, and the classroom has a ton of toys. All are stored in cubbies with bins like this. I feel it keeps the room clean looking while still allowing children to have access to what they want/need.

The photo is of my family room in my basement. It is also the entrance to my daycare. The whole basement is mainly daycare and I have a large playroom that is ONLY daycare.

But I didn't want the family room to scream daycare.

The bookshelves by the door, also work as the sign in/out area. The bulletin board is a cute wood one...I didn't want anything to "office-like"

The cubbies are from Costco. The kids keep their coats, change of clothes etc in them.

Between the couch is a wicker cube which holds toys.

The coffee table has two huge drawers which also hold toys and games.

The couches have skirts and jigsaw puzzles and board games are hidden underneath.

I have various baskets around the room which hide daycare stuff.

Behind the couches up against the wall is a lateral file cabinet. It looks more like a piece of furniture than a file cabinet. I keep all my paperwork, activity files etc in here.

I am able to keep the "daycare" look to a minimum in this room.
