    Parent Paid Too Much!

    I have another question ha!

My contract states that parents do not pay when I go on vacation. Dcd gave me a check for the month (he paid early) and didn't deduct the week that I will be gone.

I'm going to refund him, but I don't know if I should just write him a check or if I should have him rewrite the check. I know if I write him a check, he won't cash it because he has done this in the past. They are super nice! But I really don't want to make them pay for a week that I'm closing since they are having to find other care.

    What would you do?

    Quick e-mail or text:

"DCD, the check you dropped off today was made out for $xx more than it was suppose to be, Would you like to re-write the check or would you like me to apply the overage as credit for the next month?"

Personally I'd just apply it to the next month. My policies state that payments are non-refundable. I'd rather credit their account than start refunding.
