Well, we're now dealing with no heat.

There some issue with the gas company and our whole town has no heat (except for those with wood stoves, of course!). Since we have no other heat source in our house, I'm thinking I may need to think about closing tomorrow. Not looking forward to losing out on a day's pay, but I can't really stay open when it's so cold outside and there's no heat inside .

I am so sorry to hear this! :-( Where exactly are you? We have a woodstove in our basement and burn wood all winter to help save on our heating bill, but we have this because of where we live. Power often goes out due to storms, cold etc. I would still have to close for the day or however long it would take to get heat back though as our heat source would not do a thorough enough job of heating the entire home. I hope this get resolved quickly for you. *hugs*

          Thanks!!

We're just outside of Barrie, Ontario. It was really cold yesterday, but warmed up in the evening to about -12C. But luckily they managed to get the gas lines fixed overnight, so we have a nice warm house again . It was a chilly night, but I'm open for business today!

It's times like this when I wish we could have some sort of woodstove. We're in a townhouse, so I'm not sure how the zoning works for that sort of thing. An electric fireplace is an option, but wouldn't help if the power went down. I'm sure I won't be the only one in town looking for options after this fiasco
