How to Help DCG at Nap

Oh my! I would ask that for the sake on consistency and to make this as easy as possible on DCG that they try to get her to nap the same way she's expected at daycare. Hopefully they'll listen... In many cases they won't and it means DCG may not adjust to napping at daycare.- Flag

O.M.F.G. THAT is one I haven't heard before. All you can do is accept it or put your foot down and let them know that they have 30, 60, however many days to get it together and teach their child to sleep laying flat-like she is SUPPOSED to, or find a new childcare situation. I'd include a warning that it will be VERY hard to find a childcare willing to deal with this.- Flag

Oh my...that's a new one!
I think I would have to have a sit down with mom/dad and as a PP suggested, give them x amount of days for this to stop at home and improve at DC. This situation is unfair to you and DCG.- Flag

They said they will work on it at home. If I don't see any changes soon, we will have a serious sit down chat and they will be given x amount of days.
I have two people on my waitlist but neither need care until the end of summer so I don't want to term too early.
I'm hoping they actually work on it. I love dcg the rest of the day and she fits in well with the group.- Flag

Iwould tell parents that she is on probation. They should be aware of the safety issues sleeping in a stroller can cause.I would continue nap time as you are.I also used music -pretty loud .I would sit in the room.Read or do something for yourself.I even ate lunch sometimes. One thing that worked for me was the "magic"blanket.A heavyish blanket layed onto the child. It always seemed to comfort them and kept them from startling awake.I would give it two weeks after vacation then if not better then I would replace.- Flag

I know most parents don't pick up on that type of thing but one can dream right?!?!
Hoping she stays on her new routine and is a great napper for you! happyface- Flag
