I have a daycare in my basement, but I am licensed and have an assistant. Anyway, one of my dck is leaving. She brought a toy for another girl. I bought it in my work area. It's a room that's secluded off that has my computer and I relax or my assistant when we have lunch. One at a time, not together. I have a little table in there. I said to the mom "Her gift is in the room that's off the side". My assistant was inside cleaning. I was outside with the kids. The mom didn't know the gift was her's because it wasn't wrapped. However, it was the only child theme item in a sea of paperwork and other adult things. When I told her so, the mom went back in side. My assistant comes out an hour later saying "The mom was confused, because YOU didn't do a good job telling her about the gift". I said "What do you mean?". She said "I didn't see the gift either. A gift is a wrapped item.". I said "It was the only child item in the room". She said "I still didn't know what you were talking about". If you were told what I originally told the mother (and given the room set up), would you know what I was talking about? Was I wrong? I've never heard a gift has to be wrapped. SShe made me feel stupid.
