Questions for the Fairy Garden Providers :)

The kids are having great fun checking out their garden every morning to see if the fairy has been around. So far she's left a note for them to find every morning. She's gonna get darn sick of that pretty soon.:: What else can this magical fairy do to spice things up?

The 1st note she left was written all backwards so they had to figure out how to read it. Next note was written so tiny, it was a challenge(for everybody!), and last note was written all around a spiral of paper(telling them how lucky they were to have that nice tall dc lady taking care of them). Fairy Crystal is going to get a 100 pc. puzzle, put it together and write her note on the back of it, then let them figure out the rest.

Fairy Crystal was also thinking of picking up some cute shiny stuff at the Dollar Store for creating shiny Fairy collages and some different ingredients for making magic Fairy Potions in the back yard.

Any other ideas for leaving notes or small(a.k.a. cheap) goodies/activities to keep their interest up?? It is so darn cute watching them all arrive in the morning, excitedly anticipating the magic in their day.

Whenever we had a fairy garden where I worked, we never had a fairy visit and leave anything. It was just a cute tiny garden 'dollhouse' really. Just to play tiny world with. I didn't know anyone made it where things would be left by fairies, for the kids. I guess if I did that, I would just put like one little pretty gem or something per a day cause, as you said, it would get a little old leaving so many surprises and notes everyday!

Maybe the fairy will write a letter saying she's going to the bahamas for the summer? LOL.

Honestly, I love fairy gardens but I wouldn't want to do a "fairy" in the garden because I could barely pull elf on the shelf off! LOL.

Hmmm Bahamas sounds like a good idea. That Elf thing drives me crazy because there have been so many times I have forgotten to move him until kids start pulling into the driveway. A couple times I had to fudge it because I did forget completely.
We're definitely going to ease off a bit after the 4th because we'll be going on to something else. So Fairy Crystal will have to take a vacation for sure. But for now, they're excited and I'm running with their enthusiasm. I really wish this had been around when my own girls were little. It would have been so wonderful creating those memories with them.

The fairy could leave them colored pencils and paper so the dcks can write notes to the fairy.
She could also leave items with play value. Our fav item so far is a bridge made from popsicle sticks stuck through yarn at intervals. The dcks hang it between things. It has strings left at both ends to help them attach it. They decided to use it as a hammock too. SA kids could make it themselves.
Mine also have silk flowers from the $1 store. They use big ones as fairy beds or umbrellas, and small vining ones to string along to use as ladders or swinging ropes.
They have little play dishes to pour water in for ponds or pools, with those gems on the bottom that you put in the bottom of vases - also from $1 store.

I am only hiding a new item once each week.

Building off of the last poster, why can't the fairy leave notes asking the dcks to build her a bridge, or other things?

              These are all great ideas.

How about having a weekly theme? Where she leaves a note with some clues, some supplies, some instructions, an activity, or whatnot?
*plant a fairy garden (small flower seeds)
*build something for the fairy's house

And then changes it up for the next week.

Then I throw my vote in for the Bahamas. ::

(do you have pictures? would love to see)

I received a free packet of flower seeds in the mail some time ago, from BC's sharing of sites to get freebies.happyface So I put those into the tiny fairy bottle that came with the fairy door kit. That'll go outside tomorrow a.m., along with a note. Won't be doing much this week, some kids I only have 2 days and I've taken Friday off to make an extra long weekend. Yay!!
Honestly, I'm just a big kid when it's comes to stuff like this. Elf on the Shelf got old and this will too I'm sure, but for now, it's silly and fun.
Thanks for all your ideas, keeping some definitely for the weeks to come.

Asking the dcks to build her a bridge, or anything, is a great idea; it'll keep them busy.
I'd have no idea how to post pics. from my camera. I have a hard time just getting them on my computer and printing them off.

Love your ideas! I bought a couple silk butterflies today, will use at some point. Gotta love the Dollar Store!
Trying to get a mental picture of your bridge. You just use a length of yarn and stick it through the threads?
