Ughhh what have I gotten myself into? I've had a family that has been interested in joining my daycare for months and a spot finally opened up. I told them the other day they could come this week for an interview and I have regretted setting it up from the moment i did it. I just don't really want to add on any extra kids! I have a bit of a lighter crowd during the summer and have some kids starting kindergarten in the fall so I'm losing out on money but I kind of like the fact that my days will be less stressful, but of course, i still have to pay the bills. Starting a new child can be a chore! What a double edge sword having your own business is. So wonderful that YOU make the decisions, but sometimes the decisions are so hard to make!

Cut your quandry in half. Tell them your opening will not be until ... July 15 ... or August 1. Even if you told them otherwise, oops, there's been a change and the spot will open up on Xxxx date. -
Good idea, gives you time to psyche yourself up for it too.

I have jumped too quick before and then told the interviewing family that
"I didn't realize the age of their child and I was actually needing a 'x' yr old. I am so sorry."Comment
