Erm no. Not going to happen. There are so many ways of gauging the child's temperature that are just as, if not more, accurate.
Other than the obvious reason of my not wanting to do it rectally, I'd also be scared of having an older child comment on it out of context. That's something I don't even want to get involved in, even if it is easy to explain away.
