Does This Look Anything to You?

I sent little brother home wth a fever 2 days ago. They came back today and bg brother had this rash on his face. He has super sensitive skin and I'm sure he's been picking at it a bit, so it could be an irritation from a acidic food or something. Just wanted to see if it alarmed anyone. that's where I'm at in life today

    Looks like impetigo to me.
    Possibly hand, foot & mouth?

Ive never had either go through daycare so Im not sure but those are my guesses.

    Both can spread like crazy!!

Cold sores can also appear on the face. Maybe google images of it. I've had that one here. It's also highly contagious.

It didn't look so bad at the beginning of the day...I didn't think much of it until close to pick up. They were guessing it was just irritated... Hoping they were right. I started thinking hand foot and mouth after they left. I wasn't totally with it today- fingers crossed nobody else get whatever it is and I will sanitize like crazy. Luckily he is sort of an antisocial kid, so odds are he didn't rub his face on anyone

My daughter kids cold sores occasionally it looks a little more like one big blister when she gets it though

Just had one with impetigo a few weeks ago and that's what it looked like around his mouth. I'd require he see a doctor just to be on the safe side.

So, I was at Urgent Care myself this evening (neck/back spasms - on some good drugs at this particular moment ) and I sent the Impego link to dcm and she thanked me and said she would take him to Urgent Care. I think its definitely hand foot and mouth. I have a load of toys going in the dish washer right now. Please, please, please don't let my kiddos get it!

Looks more like impetigo than HFM to me, BUT I am not a dr.

                    No, they're different.

Impetigo is a bacterial skin infection.

                    HFM is a viral infection.
