Self releasing door lock for my front door

Just had my new fire inspection and all my handles for my house ie....front door and back door need to be self releasing lock handles....so when a child pulls down the handle the lock releases....no deadbolts can be used unless it releases when the handle is turned.. .does anyone have these I'm having the hardest time finding them....and I can't have my security screen door either it needs to be magnetic so the childcare push it open...

I can see that being a problem though. I have had certain children who would try to escape! I understand why they want that, I just don't understand how it is going to be safe on the other side of things.

Wow. Sorry I can't be of much help to you since we don't have those regulations where I am. And I use my deadbolt everyday!
Have you tried searching on Amazon?

I find that requirement a little odd though. I get that they want children to be able to exit in case of a fire. But, it seems a little dangerous for the dart-and-dash kids who like to take off when they think you're not looking.
Plus, what about child gates; meaning, if there's a gate, say on the stairs, that blocks their exit to the front door anyway... it kind of defeats the purpose.

I would ask to see the regulation. Are you a home or center?

Most lever style door handles DO have self-releasing locks...
