    Wireless Interconnected Smoke Detectors

    Hey everyone,

I just moved and we're about to start getting our home ready for licensing. The biggest expense is usually wiring the darn smoke detectors.
I ran across an ad about those wireless interconnecting smoke detectors. I believe Kidd and First Alert have them. They seem like they would do what Fire marshals expect. I'm guessing I will need up to 10 units. So using them would save a lot of money and time.
Is there anyone who have them installed in your daycare with the approval of the fire inspection? I know that it may depend on each states regulations. I stay in Missouri. I'm still going to wait for the fire marshal to let me know for sure. I'm just curious.

    Thanks in advance for comments.

I used them in MO & AR, but ran legally licensed exempt... some states require hardwire for licensing & won't accept the interconnected wireless - some will

When you set one off for testing they should all go off at the same time; great for larger houses but it scares the bejeezus out of the kids 'cuz they aren't use to all sounding at one time

That's funny. I've been licensed many times before (I move around often), i try to prepare the dcks but there's always at least one who is overly dramatic.

The good thing about MO is you can start out licensed exempt/Registered with 4 kids while getting thru all the licensing stuff... being that I did under 24 months only, I just stayed registered. As a single mom, I couldn't afford half the housing in the KCMO area unless I wanted to go to certain neighborhoods. I get the moving thing... I was a traveler for the first 12 years I did childcare
