    Provider Day May 6th

First off I have to say THANK YOU to all for everything you do!
I have a son who is in a home daycare and it's like a second home for him while I'm at work.
My question for all of you is what should I get for my son's daycare providers for National Provider's Day next Friday? Last year I gave her a cute poem framed which she loved and hung it on her wall. For Christmas I gave her a little more than a weeks pay but I'm stumped on what to get her next week.

One of my moms is bringing food for Monday. Another is gifting me a week of lawn care. One is coming to wash my giant garbage cans out this week. Seems silly I know. But I hate doing it and she noticed. So she does it twice a year because she loves me.
One of my moms is a hairdresser at a fancy salon and is giving me a new cut, color, the whole works.
Another has offered to help with my garden.
I'm blessed to have these amazing people give me a hand when they don't have to.

Even just a thank you note is more than enough! I would love a special treat or coffee. Something like that in the morning makes my whole day!

Seeing as though my patents don't even know this exists, Im sure like pp said, a thank you card or giftcard would be nice. I would personally live all my children picked up early

ANYTHING that recognizes her for what she does is sufficient. A note that tells her that you appreciate her can mean the WORLD.

If you're looking for GIFTS that you can buy, I would never say no to a visit from a housekeeping service to do some of those things that I always seem to put off (the deep cleaning stuff that doesn't show to anyone but me). A pampering session or group of pampering products (face mask, pedicure kit, etc.). I'm a huge fan of Perfectly Posh, Jamberry nail wraps, LipSense (the Bombshell color looks good on everyone, and you can get a collection for around $50 that includes the gloss and remover). A gift certificate to Target is good for anyone. Premium coffees are great. Flowers. I don't know anyone who couldn't use a massage certificate.

If you know there's something she likes, then try to work that in. Maybe offer to take HER kids for a Saturday sometime so she can have a day to herself?

If one of my parents would just give me a note or card, that would be so awesome! But if it is something you can buy, paying someone to cut the law this summer once would mean the world to me also. For me with hubby being out in the semi, and DD leaves as soon as school lets out to go to work at our church camp for the summer. It leaves me to run daycare, take care of house and yard and garden. A tiny bit of help would feel like a lifesaver to me!

I never knew this day existed until I started reading this forum!!

I think a nice card and maybe a gift card for dinner would be great.

I'm sure that any acknowledgement of the day would be appreciated. A note saying thank you and a gift card to a local restaurant would be nice.

I have never had a parent acknowledge this day in over 30 years as a provider.

same here. I've occassionally gotten a plant for Mother's Day but never anything for "provider appreciation".

Sorry...the date is May 6th, not the 8th. It's always the Friday before Mother's Day.
My provider didn't know this day existed either and she's been a provider for 15 years!
Thanks for all of the ideas!!!

I agree with the personalized note to your provider. Tell her why you appreciate her and how much your child loves it there. You can get into funny reasons, serious reasons, all the reasons.
I know it's supposed to be a day for the provider but if anybody really wanted to know what I'd appreciate for provider's day, it would be a gift card to somewhere I could get new toys for the dcks. Call me strange. Or the local book store where I could pick out something for myself OR dc. Or an amazon gift card.
