Weird topic but what do you use for hand soap? My kids go through a ton, I was diluting it and using it in a foaming pump, the the pump got all gunked up so I bought a regular one a week ago and the soap is already almost out! I have refills but slightly frustrating haha.

I'm considering buying the automatic dispensers, does anyone use them? Does this cut down on the heavy soap offenders? Haha.

I reuse the foam dispensers too. So far none have stopped working, had 3 for a few years. I love them but refuse to pay for watered down soap so if mine go, I will buy a couple of new foam dispensers and keep making my own. Cost effective!

if I were you I would swish and soak in plain hot water and pump water through them to de-gunk. It's worth a try.

I had an automatic dispenser....disaster. Couldn't trust the kids to not play with it. Soap everywhere. They broke it after two weeks.

I just use a regular pump and I have the SA kids refill it on Tuesdays and Fridays.

I use a foam pump. One trick I learned is that little hands don't need a full pump. So put a hairband around the stem of them pump so the pump doesn't go down all the way. They still get plenty of soap and my soap lasts a little longer.

I use the milk and honey soap from soft soap and put a rubber band around the stem of the pump. It works perfectly and we don't use nearly as much now as we used to.

I'm probably not the best person to respond to this.
I buy the Bath and Body Works, gentle foaming hand soap.
It has no harsh chemicals to worry about with licensing, and as you probably do, claim it on taxes.
And as a bonus....smells great! A topic the kids and I have fun talking about

Friday I had a parent bring in her own soap to use with her child. I said no. We have one soap dispenser and that's all I want. I didn't care if it was a deal breaker. Her child's hands are dry because she doesn't rinse all the soap off. She's 5. I did tell her I'd put lotion on all the kids. Kinda gets on my nerves when parents want special for,their kids. My bathroom sink area is way to small for that!

Mine all sit in their cubbies and we have a "soap helper" who squirts their hands multiple times per day. They give them one big pump. I mention this so you can see that they aren't wetting their hands before getting soap so the only soap that works well for us is foaming soap.

I buy the walmart brand for refills. It's around $2.50 and we go through about a bottle a week.

Me too! I like it because it is less messy. The only downside is that it squirts out too much soap for kids in my opinion. It is cleaner though and gentle on hands if you get the creamy kind.

I believe you aren't washing hands properly if you don't wet hands first. The CDC explains each step in the link.

I was going to say the same thing. If you aren't getting their hands wet first, they aren't washing correctly.
