I Sent Out a Notice Yesterday...

To all my parents of SA kids. I will no longer offer care for SA's. As it is now, I only have them when school is out--none come before/after school. All the ones that do come here, I've had since they were toddlers. I will miss them, but my group is really young now. All are 2-4, and I will be taking an infant soon. This will be my first summer in 20+ years to not have SA's! I'm excited--I think this is the right decision for my group.

Congrats for doing what is best for you. I personally think that was a good idea too! Best wishes

Congrats! I've moved away from SA care and it's been awesome. There are many more resources for SA kids than littles.

Thanks, ladies! Spring break last week helped with the decision. They're great kids, but they've outgrown being here.

Mixing the school age with the younger kiddos is hard for sure. I am sure things will be easier for you.

Good for you! I'm sure you're making a good decision there. Last summer I swore it was going to be THE last summer I ever took another SA again. So far, I haven't told the 2 dcfs my plans so I guess after this summer, it will positively for sure be THE very last summer I ever take SA again.
It's so hard to think of them not being here because, like you, I've had them since itty bitty beings. And the 2 dcks that have always given me the most trouble would probably be the ones I'd miss the most.

I stopped taking SA kids a while back too.

                BEST move ever!

Every once in a while I will take a past DCK that is in school now (thinking I miss them and how nice it would be to see them) but usually by lunch I realize it was the PRE-school aged child I miss NOT the SA child they've morphed into.
