Help Me Write a Term Letter

Okay so 1st family im terming is taken care of. I need help writing this second letter. The one that doesn't like to sign notices or contracts. The one with the whole breakfast ordeal. The one whose child will be of age for preschool in about 5 months. The one who will probably give me notice when she finds a nanny or something. I want to put something along the lines of changing our hours and ages of care which is not a complete lie as we are planning on doing so. It just isn't a great fit and I am not willing to bend anymore. I know less is more but I don't know if yall know how dcm is.

Also I want to give both notices friday so if we interview people that want to start sooner they only have to wait 2 weeks as opposed to longer. My dh is just worried about that but I told him God got it.

        I would write a generic.

        Dear Dcm,

Due to changing business policies, I will no longer be able to provide care for dcb. The last day I will be able to provide care is ....

        Thank you.

Or even less: This is notice that I will no longer be able to provide care for dcb. The last day of care will be .....

I usually only have a few sentences. Short and sweet. No reason in writing.

I hand them the letter with a short explanation. So I would offer that we've had to make some business decisions and unfortunately will not be able to provide care past this date.

That would be it. There is nothing to argue against. Nothing to plead for. Hand them the letter, usher them out and close the door.

That sounds very kind while still being firm that this isn't negotiable. When she talks and wants more information smile, act excited, and show a positive attitude. It confuses them and makes the situation less tense. ::

:: I say things like "I know Timmy will learn so much at his new preschool! New adventures are exciting! You're a little explorer aren't you Timmy?! I'm so proud of you. High Five!"

I was going to start a new thread but felt like I was doing too much. This is giving me anxiety. I feel like I am in an abusive relationship in the term of everything is good then there is a blow up then it is a good. With this dcm, things have blown over and she is onay right now. I don't know how tomorrow will go and it is going to drive me crazy until it happens. It's what i need to do, especially since her child is always last to be picked up. If not, I would be done sometimes an hour before. We really are restructuring our hours though. Just hopefully this will go smoothly.

It will be okay... Really it will.

Its just the anxiety that naturally happens before a term.

Telling them is the hardest part but you already know in your mind and heart that this IS the right decision so you can do it! Just imagine all of us standing right behind you when it all goes down.

We are all self-employed women and men who shouldnt have to just "deal with it".
Most of us went into this job so we could love it not just put up with stuff that comes with it.... Kwim?

                      We got your back.

Yes! And once it's out there, it's SUCH a relief! Rehearse beforehand. It sounds funny to say that, but it helps. You can do it!
