Update On My 2nd Complaint from Last Week

I don't know about you all, but I love when you guys update on situations so I am doing the same.

Last week remember dcm who gave me attitude over her being late and getting charged a fee? Well, she paid me my actual entire late fee with tuition Friday but had a look on her face. Sunday she tried having her daughter call me twice, but that's blocked. She called once, but I wasn't home. She also texted me the magic words, "I will let you know Monday when I am putting dab's 2 weeks in." Although it was not set in stone, that is still enough for me to take it seriously. Then in the middle of the night, texted again apologizing for her actions. I didn't respond. Yesterday she was back to normal and spoke to my husband because I was busy with the kids. She apologized maybe 1000 times. She is going through so much at home and didn't even realize she snapped on me until days after. It's a longer story but I don't want to put all her information out there. Any who, my husband said we already had forgiven her, but when we hear the magic words, we already started advertising and already have interviews set up. So she understands she will be getting the boot soon.

The best part she said was she loves us and the quality care we provide. She knows she pays more for dcb to attend our program, but you get what you pay for. She said she knows if she pays $20/week (I'm guessing after subsidy) that the care would not be nearly as good as anything we do. She apologized again because she said we have been nothing but good to her and when the situation did happen, we weren't even rude back.

I say all this to say, it pays to keep your cool. I am happy she sees we provide quality care. I am happy that even when we do term her, she will realize how good she had it here. She will have nothing but good things to say. It's unfortunate that personal stress and problems can turn people so fast without their knowledge. All I can do is pray.

I always say 'kill 'em with kindness.' Even if you are so mad, the best thing to do is always be nice. When the situation pops in their head, they realize they weren't being reasonable and get apologetic. If you feel you still need to term, I would make sure to have a family lined up that is without a doubt a better fit. I have made that mistake where the interviews were flawless and then mom turns out to be crazy and also a liar(tells me what I want to hear about the care of her child, and after weeks of struggling find out the opposite is true.) I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do!

Glad things are working out, but I would expect another tantrum when you term her. Leopards don't change their spots very well.

It is too bad she got herself in this situation because she had a tantrum about your rules but that's life! You did the right thing by doing what is best for you and your business. It can be very difficult to work with unstable people and it's unfortunate that they only appreciate you once you are gone.

Thank you all. It is really sad that her life is so crazy it can turn her in a snap. But I am not willing to forgive, keep her, and then it happens again. I've learned from you guys. Now to write my term letter for the other dcb's parents I wrote about last week. Lol
